Where is Turtleback Creek?
For me, turtleback creek is a small stream about 80 yards behind my house. It's the place I go to be alone with God. On one trip down to the creek I found a turtle shell. So, I call it “Turtleback Creek”. "Catchy, huh." Where is your turtleback creek? The place where you go to get alone with God, the place where you pray and meditate on the things of God, and most importantly where you hear from God. It could be your bedroom, driving in your car, your work shop or even your own back yard, anywhere there are no distractions. In Native American culture the turtle was symbolic of prayer and meditation. As the turtle closes itself in its shell so must we look within and commune with our creator, allowing our spirit to speak and receive from God’s Holy Spirit.
Turtleback Creek: A 30 Day Journey of Discovery
My new Daily Devotional for Men is now available at most major online bookstores including PublishAmerica.com, Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com and Books-A-Million.com (keyword: turtleback creek)
Turtleback creek is a real place, but even more so is what it means to me. It’s more than just a small stream in the woods; it’s a state of mind, a place of peace and fellowship with God, no matter where you are. It’s that place where you can go to be alone with God and hear from Him. If you take this journey you’ll find that God speaks in clear tones and quiet whispers. Discover for yourself that He does speak if only you will listen. This book contains just a few of the things I’ve gotten from God while down at the creek. On each day you’ll find insights, discoveries and a simple prayer. I trust it’s a blessing you will want to share.
